A friend and I went out to try to put down some yotes yesterday to no avail. But we did find this.
This hen had almost no muscle left in her breast. And it looked like her feet were frostbit. That may have hindered her ability to forage. I don't think it could have been more than a day old either. I was yote hunting another spot and busted a bunch of gobblers off the roost at nine am. I could not find a turkey track on the ground. I think they had been up in the trees since the last snow, so probably three days. We are supposed to get some rain and warmer temps today so hopefully they can get out and gorge themselves before the next snowfall. Looks like they have been having a rough time.
