Wolf Poacher Charged
An Illinois hunter and his Canadian guide have been fined a total of $2,500 for charges related to illegal wolf hunting. John Shott, of Genoa, Illinois, was convicted under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act and fined $1,500 for wolf hunting without a license and $500 for abandoning the carcass and leaving the wolf to spoil. Guide Melvin Martin of Lamaline, Newfoundland, was also charged and fined $500 for leaving the wolf to spoil
