I'm not sure if these pictures have ever been posted on IW or if in fact they are real. If they have been posted before now I apologize. If these are real pictures it's incredible that this deer made it! The deer to me looks healthy and not bothered much...

They were sent to me by a friend of mine and the original e-mail didn't a date or place when these were taken.

Looks real to me. I found the skull of a little deer with a Muzzy broadhead stuck in the skull. "where the brain would of been" The skull grew around the arrow so it must of lived for quite a while. Very tough animals thats for sure. You think you could walk around town with a arrow stickin through your head? And i thought getting stung by a bee was bad..........

We killed a buck during shotgun season once that had a crossbow bolt thru the head almost exactly in the same place as that doe. I'll see if I can get Muddy to post it for me :-). Makes me wonder if thats what people are aiming for?

That's were my arrow went!!!!! /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I do have to admit that I hit a doe in one cheek and out the other when I was 16 years old, rushed the shot and caught a deflection off a limb, got a complete pass through and she just stood there and shook her head. I felt awful but had enough composure to nock another arrow and put one in the boiler room and she crashed about 25 yrds away. When I got up to her I realized she must have had her mouth sligtly open as the gums were barely cut but there were two giant holes in the sides of her head.

thats gotta suck running through the woods at night!

seems to be doing ok tho by the way the pix look.....

tough animals!

I shot a nice buck while i was in college, hit him high and back, (some dont believe in this, but i do) hit him in "No-Man's-Land" I tracked him in a big circle but the blood eventually dried up. Two days later, my buddy called me on the cell phone and said he saw the buck i shot chasing does with an arrow sticking out of his side!!! I saw him half a dozen times that season with the arrow still in him, then after season had ended, i saw him again without the arrow, seemed no worse for the wear!!! tought critters!

Wow those are some amazing animals.

I have told this story before: A guy just outside of my town that I know shot a decent nine point from inside of a ground blind right after our MN firearms season with bow and arrow. Shoot through windows cuased his arrow to go high and a little back. 10 or 11 days later that buck was in his yard eating out of feeder{The person was not hunting over the feeder} That person has video of the buck with the arrow from that afternoon at his feeder. The next year in October by hunting partner shot this buck close to 4 miles away. When we caped it that evening I noticed the large bruised area and kinda thought that it might have been an old arrow injury but dismissed the thought until the taxidermist called and told us another person from town wanted to talk about this deer. Pics and video footage plus the bruised flesh. I have no doubt in my mind it was the same deer.

Amazing the strength and will to survive.
