Your State Buck

Despite it being the world record the Hanson buck wouldn't get my vote for best typical. I'd give it to the massive 5x5 dennis Adams shot a few yrs ago here. Grossed in the 224 range, I'm not sure the net, around 208" I think. Pics of it are hard to find. Way better than the Hanson buck, more antler, less tines. DROOL.

It's hard to beat the wayne bills buck from hamilton cnty, iowa. Net 201 10 pt. and if it hadn't snapped of part of the brow it would have gone even higher.

Love those huge 10's

This is South Dakotas state record non typical. The deer scored 256 and change but the really impressive part is that its typical frame grosses 195 5/8 inch as a straight 8!! The mass is also unreal on this deer, the 8 circ measurements add up too57 4/8 inches. Seeing photos of this deer does it no justice, its a must see.

I'm a Wisconsinite so I gotta go with the Jordan buck. 10pts, and mass that makes the tines look short, which they certianly aren't.

That's why I like the Adam's buck, looks short b/c of the mass, there are 13" tines. Left side went over 100" as a typical 5.....unreal!!

Nebraska can contribute two:

Sheds from "The General" were found by a Nebraska rancher in 1959 and today are still the world record matched set of typical whitetail sheds. Had the deer been taken by a hunter, it would be the world record typical whitetail.

And who could forgot "Ol Mossy Horns," taken in 1962 by Del Austin. Mossy stood as the non-typical archery world record until just recently when Mike Beatty's buck was accepted by Pope and Young.
