Is your area dry??

Storms last night were scattered. I was blessed with 3/4s but west a me in Davis Co, not much. Ottumwa had 13 90 degree days. Eleventh warmest June for Iowa. Problem this June westerlies, the active stormy, widespread energy jumped up into Minn and Wis. These jet streams usually hang around Iowa in June, and go north July and Aug, This June the Heat Dome pushed everything north quickly. Record low severe weather this june in Iowa also because of this. North and NE Iowa have been just close enough to the westerlies to get in on more storms, thus more widespread rain coverage. Another factor in rain during Summer is the very edge of the heat dome, the ring of fire. That also was north and NE to benefit NE and North Iowa. Southern Iowa stuck in the heat. Right now the heat dome has retreated to the SW taking the ring of fire with it. Kansas and MO are in line for soaking 2 inch rains this weekend! BUT too far south for southern Iowa. Unless many in MO go outside and blow to the NORTH! After beneficial rains pass us by to the south this weekend, the heat dome will bulge back to the north in the position it was in June, taking best chances across Northern Iowa once again. Sorry southern Iowa. Pray Sunday some position changes. Overall though,,when the summer is HOT,,best chances of rain will always be better NORTH>

Been raining here in Decatur County since I woke up at 6:30. Doesn't look like it's going to stop anytime soon either.

Up home is still dry as a fart though.

Fwiw, I am seeing a light rain today at my place that is fairly steady. It's nice to get, but wouldn't you know it...I was trying to work on getting my structure situated inside my newly dug pond. I think it is now just muddy enough to make it unsafe to run the tractor. Oh well.

$3k for that is a steal from what I've paid. I actually bought one same size that they pressed into an "egg shape" to take higher tractor weights..... Found one a guy bought for $7k and he didn't need it and resold to me for like $2-4K??? Can't rememember. That's a deal though. I'm gonna hit u up on source cause that's a bargain. I wonder if u can get em that big in plastic? Wow.
We getting pounded now, thank goodness!!!! Those cracks in the ground that go to china always are the tell tale sign "oh man, we need it". When ur .25" drill lines turn into cracks in ground, u knows it's dry. Thank goodness for this big rain!!!!

Big Rain? Where? You bein Funny? Weather Services have now backed down on the Big Rain. Will focus between KC and St Louis. MO...Iowa? Maybe 1/4 inch around Ottumwa? At least the forecast as of Sat Nite. Next week gonna fry. Only hope that ole Ring a fire scoots farther south with T-Storm complex's than in June, when they all stayed north...

We just had over an inch of rain here in MN, watched a guy fish right through the whole storm, lightning and wind. He stayed out there??

We got 3/4" Saturday. We caught 1/8" on two occasions before that. So.... we are at a whopping 1" in last 39 days.

Was thankful for the rain.....was a good slow all day rain but it didn't amount to a ton. Certainly could use some more. The NWSG and Mithcanthus have started super slow due to lack of moisture. Had to water fruit trees as they were getting stressed. Beans look awesome.

Let's compare rain gauge totals after tomorrow...
We are going to get pounded up here in MN...
You guys got some more severe storms coming your way by the looks of it.

Well Southern and south central Iowa finally got some widespread rain this Morning,,Hope everyone that needed more got it!

Wet now

We went from dry to wet in MN.

One of my farms had 4.3 inches. Last night 2 inches again in my area. I think that storm is heading into Iowa!

Crops and plots look great.
