Had 2 little 6 pointers and a spike come in together and bed down 30 yds. from me. About 45 mins later, a 14yr. old kid hunting "wabbits." Needless to say, heading out again tomorrow morning with tag in pocket...
Go State! Glad we made it to bowl eligible status! Of our 3 tough games left to become bowl eligible, I didn't expect it to happen on this one!
I agree with Blakesburg, can we pull of another win or two now and get into a good bowl? We'll just have to see...
Maybe that win was the good...
I used to get out for the Novemeber Antlerless season and always managed to see several real nice bucks (figures haha). This is my first year bowhunting so needless to say, I'll be out there with the bow this time to hopefully get a crack at one of 'em.
I posted on the thread in the trail forum too but I use a headlamp with the red light and several times (including this past weekend) I've come face to face (less than 10 yds) from deer with the red light on. I can see their "red" eyes moving up and down looking at me trying to figure out what...
I think the reaction depends on the deer but they can see or hear something. I have a bushnell cam and I've had lots of deer just stare at it as if they see something and they are cautious. Sometime they come closer and sniff it. Last week for the first time in 2 years, I had a small 100"...
The mass measurements alone on that guy would score more than most of the bucks I've seen on the hoof so far this year! Haha
Great buck and congrats!! I'm sure you'll never forget that hunt with your dad.
I've passed SUV's on I-80 with deer strapped to the roof. Sure, they get some looks but it seemed to work for them.
The worst was a clapped out 79 Chevy pickup with a 130" buck HEAD (yes, the head, not just the rack) strapped to the grill. And not that it would really make it less...
My family typically went up to Ontario fishin' every other summer when I was growing up. One year, my 14 yr old (at the time) cousin landed a big northern (guessing 16 or 17lbs?). Well, he was going to get it mounted so he put it on the stringer that already had 4 or 5 walleye on it. I was in...
This is my first year bowhunting, and I have a question about calling. Last Friday night I had a really good 10 ptr. (160?) at 17 yds behind a tree (no shot) to my right downwind...to my left at 20 yds there was a doe that winded me and was not snorting but was stopped, alert, and looking...
I got these 2 bucks on camera this year. Which G2 is taller? I just hope I get a shot at either....Ironically, they are both 9 ptr's with a G4 on the same side but they are different deer...

This also my first year bowhunting. I didn't get ducked but got busted drawing. Had a small buck and doe looking my way and as soon as they looked away I drew and looked back at the other doe I was gonna shoot in front of me , she had turned around and was watching me draw and was gone before...
