    Blind Scent Control?

    For all you guys using pop-up blinds to bowhunt this fall - What are you planning to do for scent control? I figured I'd leave mine outside in the yard during season, spray it down with scent blocker and maybe some doe urine. Any other ideas?

    gobbling toms

    Saw several flocks out feeding in the sunshine this afternoon. One group had a tom in full strut. Heard one gobbling on the roost yesterday morning just before sunrise. Checked the thermometer and it was 9 below! Anyone else ever heard of them gobbling when it was that cold?

    pre-rut already?

    Monday afternoon I watched a young 8 point actively chasing a doe near Centerville. Then this morning I saw forked horn near Eddyville following two does with his nose to the ground. Has this cold front got them worked up? Seems like they're about 3 weeks early....

    Saw the first strutting of the year this morning about 7:30. Three southern Iowa toms showing off in group of about 30 birds. They're starting about 3 weeks later than last year. Anybody heard them gobbling yet?

    A friend of mine shot an 11 point buck that he thinks will be in the 170's. Anyone know of someone in the Albia - Centerville area that could score it for him?
