Im “very aggressive” on getting “mature” “management bucks out”. I’ll even lean towards smoking some “really nice ones” in favor of making space for “special ones”. New one showed up on cam. I’ve only got one left in this class. That One i do know is OLD that a happy hunter is going to get on & I will put someone on. This may be the 2nd but I’m on fence on age. It’s rare I don’t have history so- when that’s the case- I try and be more careful. Some pics make me think a certain age while others make me think otherwise. Watcha think for age???? 4- he pry gets pass. 5- this buck is toast. ;). He is in a “special area” so I suppose even if he was 4 & I goofed up- not a big deal. Thoughts on age?

He's a hard case. I'm no expert, but he definitely has a bigger body than the deer I thought were 4 on my farm, after being worn down from the rut. I'd lean towards 5 for that reason. IMO, whatever people say, unless you have a history with a deer, it can be really hard to tell that 4-5 year old age range sometimes. If you didn't know about him with as well as you know your area, then he's a true bonus buck and I wouldn't feel bad about passing or harvesting him.

I think he's 5. Major roman nose in the first pic and his neck and shoulders don't look like a 4 yr old in other pics. And even if he was 4, I don't think he's got great potential to get much bigger. I'd lay him on the ground and let an up and comer take his spot.

I'd agree with 4.5

First pic and last pic show a nearly flat to ever so slightly sagging of the spine. 5.5 is typically sagging just a bit more. Just my guess. What I know for certain is if you let him go another year, that pig will feed a small town for a year!

60-70, you seem old to me, no crossbows, no straight wall cartridge’s, no AR platforms, not for shotgun hunting, smoke instead of ozone, such an Ebenezer Scrooge. The deer, who knows the age? Pics taken with 35mm?

Hey now!!!! ;) Little tit for tat & lawyer-ly clean-up here which is boring to ANYONE but still gonna ;) ..... No crossbows during bow season! Crossbows for seniors and disabled & late ML. Straight walls used on my farm.... I was against the law & future changes to our law but is what it is now. Fight for the future.
Shotgun hunting - full force on my land.... Just not deer drives at running deer. Smoke? Nah, but likely try it..... No ozone either. Do think smoke is better though ;). Pics on IR cam & snapped off computer screen with Iphone. & for the record on AGE.... straight from my wife: "39 years old, maturity of 19 years old, work & wear on my body of a 69 year old but still outwork a 29 year old".
I think you'd make a good lawyer & you're observant! Just have the facts wrong. Good stuff though. :)

I'm going with 4.5 also Skip. Tough to tell by the pics as said, but I think I would give him a pass.

If I looked at just one pic at a time and had a gun to head I would say:

1st pic: Not good pic
2nd pic: 4.5, neck/brisket
3rd pic: Bad angle
4th pic: 4.5
5th pic: not enough there
6th pic: bad angle
7th pic: This is the one that gets me. Looks 5.5 there, possible because head is down.
8th pic: really on fence, gun to head 5.5
9th pic: 4.5. Pretty straight back

So, I can see the dilemma. Overall I come up with more 4.5 than 5.5 so that would be my guess. I might take him out regardless, if you have someone to do it. Don't think you can go wrong really.
