I was suprised that no one mentioned the Winchester's. I have a Super X2 that I use for waterfowl. Awesome gun. The Super X3 is supposed to be an upgrade from the X2, and I've heard really good things about it. You can still find a new X2 that fits right into your price range. The two things I really like about this gun is the reliabilty and they handle heavy loads really well as far as recoil goes. Definately look into it.
