you mean like a winter rye? That's what I wanted to plant now ,along with the white clover mix. Im not worried about the rye lasting for the deer. I just to help with weeds and protection for the clover to grow.

Farm is in southern illinois, with this weather and with the deep freeze and now we got loads of rain . Is it still safe to frost seed clover if the temps freeze at night and thaw during the day. Water has no where to run off to cause frozen ground.

My mom was out fishing our pond (1.25 acre pond) on the dock at the farm, mid day and a 4 pt. buck walked across opposite side of the pond then walked into pond , swam have way across pond, switched directions then walked out and ran down back of dam. Is this normal behavior for a deer?
