    It's time....And my first big-boy encounter!

I was dead wrong on going waterfowling this morning. Very few ducks and deer all over until 10am. I was on public ground and I saw two bucks with their heads to the ground following does. The bigger one would go high 140's. It's just a matter of time.

    Axis N-fused arrows?

I just switched to the 400 grain Axis Nanos after shooting Beman ICS hunters for a few years. They shoot very well and my shot groups are a lot tighter. They have good penetration and they also seem to be alot easier to pull from the target because of the smaller diameter. They are definitely...

New Muzzleloader... Encore or Disc Extreme

I have owned several Knights (Disc, Wolverine and Elite) and the TC Encore. The Encore was a great gun and shouldered well. It seems to be a very popular smokepole with guys on this site. The accuracy seemed to be pretty good and TC has a one of the best records for customer service...

    Binoculars

Thanks for the input guys. Ok, so I have looked at three brands...Leupold Cascades, Bushnell Legends and Nikon ATB. I think that I will go with the 8x42's not sure which ones. I found all three brands for around $230.00 in black. Still not sure which one has the better optics. I guess I am...

    Binoculars

I am looking to buy a set of binoculars for both bow and muzzleloader hunting. I guess what I am looking for is something compact and rugged. I am thinking something in the 300.00 range.I have a pair of cheap Bushnell 10x50's and they are just to bulky to carry in. Any suggestions?

    Coach's Lament

Coach- It takes a lot of discipline to be able to make a decision like that. I think that your actions speak greatly for the level of respect you have for the deer you harvest . Don't look back....your patience will be rewarded.

    scopes

I looked at the leupolds but I ended up buying the Bushnell Elite 3x9x40. It has a illuminated recticle that lights up for the last 30 minutes of the evening. Overall, I like the scope, adjustments were very easy to make. The quility of glass seems to be pretty good and the scope went well with...
