I moved to the Cedar Rapids area 2 years ago and have found it very hard to get on good private ground within 30 minutes of town. My brother has lived in the area for 3 years and hasn't had much luck either. We drive an hour and 15 minutes to our hunting areas. Good luck.

My brother and I found 4 over the weekend while checking pounded areas. A 60" 4 point, 52" 7 point, 3 point, and a forky.

I talked with a guy over the weekend and he told me about a great Iowa deer season a friend of his had. He said his friend shot a 197 gross upper 180's net typical with his bow. Then he shot a 202 gross upper 190's net typical with a shotgun. He told me to watch for the story in magazines.
