Me and my buddy (fishindude) are going to school at ISU which is too far away from home for either of us to commute to hunt so last year we went knocking on I don't know how many doors. Met some nice people and got permission on a 19 acre piece of ground which is where I finally shot this guy...
Thank you. Seems weird to me that its not legal use a bow to fill a firearm tag because your range with a bow is drastically lower than with a shotgun or muzzleloader but rules are rules.
I am still fairly new to Iowa hunting, so I just wondering is it legal to archery hunt during shotgun season as long as you are using a shotgun tag? I know in Missouri during the rifle season you can bow hunt if you want but you just have to use your firearm tags.
To me something about that top one looks a year older than the other, but one of my friends I hunt with thought it was the other way around (Reason for the post). Thanks for the input.
Haha I dont think people would like me hanging a deer by the parking lot. I dont know if people would mess with it or not if i hung one on public ground though. Then again i guess it might be fine in the back of my truck for a two days, it'll freeze at night
I'm in Ames going to ISU, but I've been bow hunting public ground every chance I get. I was wondering if I shot a deer if anyone knows if butcher shops or any places like that would let me pay them to let me hang a deer in there cooler for a couple days till I can get home.
