John Deere 7000 Plot Planter Conversion

Curious as to who all has taken a 4 row planter and fabricated it themselves. - Back story, I picked up a JD 7000 4 row planter on 38" rows this weekend. I will be removing the tongue hitch and fabricating a quick hitch setup on the front of the planter. Which requires removal of the hydraulic...

    My Taxidermy Experience

As much as I hate to be the one to complain on any part of the internet, especially about my personal experiences with another person. I feel as if this one is much needed. I had harvested a turkey this year in April, the following friday I contacted a taxidermist near me about getting a fan...

    Bummer

He wasn't going to be huge, but would have been a fun one to watch run around the farm and let go. Hopefully this won't effect his later years of growth to much.

    Ants in my Trail Cams

The last couple times I have opened a few of my cams, they have been FULL of ants and what appears to be larvae. Any suggestion on what I can do to keep the ants out? Not sure that they could actually ruin the inside of the trail cams, but don't want to take the risk.

    First Bow Bird

After only getting an hour of sleep last night. I had to force myself to go out this morning. And man did it pay off. Got into my blind nestled into an inside corner of a hickory timber about 550 and set my decoys up. I heard a gobble off in the distance gave a few yelps on my box call...

Planted my first plot first week of April and I am starting to have some stuff come up. Being the great farmer I am, I need some help identifying what is what! I have a few suspicions of weeds, but not exactly sure, I am definitely no expert.

Growth of a 3-4-5 Year old

So dependent of course upon habitat, stress and food source. What would you all guess average growth would be of a buck per each year, including genetic conversation, say..good food, low stress, good doe ratio..?? What have most of you noticed for mass, inches per year, etc.

    Bushnell Trail Cams

I have a few questions on a couple bushnell trail cams I have out. I have set the sensitivity levels to low during this time of year, and on my last card pull I zero pictures, even none of me walking up to camera or leaving camera when set up. I changed it back to normal, and still no pictures...

Once a spike, always a spike?

Interesting article for anyone that is interested on spike bucks potential. Notice it does say supplemental deer feed. Hard to say what that supplement actually consists of! http://whitetailoverload.com/watch-spike-buck-turn-into-monster-boone-crockett-buck-pics/
